Message from VC's Desk

Dear Students, Faculty members, and Staff of the university,

It is a matter of immense pleasure for me to join as the Vice Chancellor of Murshidabad University on October 4, 2023.

I heartily welcome you all to a new journey of expectations and responsibilities.

It is moment of great challenge for me to lead this great institution. The institution was established in 1853 as Krishnanath College, a pioneer educational institution of colonial India which has produced several renowned personalities who contributed to the historical and cultural awakening of India as well as the nationalist movement. Archaeological evidence suggest that Murshidabad was quite advanced in the ancient period in terms of education. Krishnanath college is upgraded into Murshidabad University keeping intact the heritage of the college by the Government of West Bengal.

As I initiate my journey, we should remember that our motto is to impart holistic education among students. The infinite potential of the students and teachers can provide an excellent academic and administrative ambience to the university. We have to embrace every opportunity to excel in our life. It is high time that we mobilize our intuitive knowledge, visionary Outlook and skilled efforts to take this institution to a new height. Although we have great challenges to confront, our collective efforts, dedication and hard work are the only panacea to triumph over all the obstacles and to find out solutions to the diverse problems of the institution.

I will certainly strive to provide a conducive environment suited for academics, research and co curricular activities. It is my earnest appeal to everyone, teachers, staff, students, scholars and other stake holders of the university to join hands for ushering in a cohesive atmosphere in the campus and developing the institution as the best.
