Vision:

Our first and most important vision is to provide quality teaching that may bring out the maximum potentiality of each and every student.

We also very much focused on the development of the department as a centre for academic excellence through teaching and research that encourages and nurtures ground reality sensibilities, natural competence and critical research thinking.

Research activities of this department also need to be strengthened. To this end, our department required support from the authority of the university to emphasis on research activities.

This multidisciplinary unique department can be more flourishing if it is allowed to set up few modern and most needed different equipments in its laboratory and garden and rearing facilities. We also require to publishing a book on dissertations abstracts yearly basis.

Mission:

The Mission of the Department is to offer ultra advanced, career-oriented post graduate and research programmes imparting professional knowledge, employability and life skills, as well as inculcating a vision of community growth and development and strong ethical values.

The Department will attempt to provide learning and research opportunities in the following Thrust Areas: Interdisciplinary Studies, New technologies in agri and moriculture, Silk printing and dyeing technology, Effective extension activities, Socio-economic and Gender Studies, Transfer of technologies, Soil studies, Pathology and immunological studies, Genetic studies and seri-biotechnology. The Department employs innovative and technology enhanced curriculum, interdisciplinary approaches, field work and project based learning toward building strong foundation of on ground sensibilities and competence. Entrepreneurship is another area where we work a lot to build a strong future entrepreneur.
